So this is just a future idea for my russian and maybe another baby russian. This enclosure is 6' x 2'. giving 3' x 2' for each of the torts. Think this is do able and would I put the basking spots on opposites so the cool end is cool for each?

Looks good.
I have also seen people with the basking light over the divider so it is shared. Then the cool ends are on the outside of each enclosure.

I am also building a Twin Enclosure for my 2 Leopard Hatchlings. I am also planing on having a "wall devided" Basking Area with the cool side being to the outside. This in conjuction with my heat-emitters will give a large range of temps ffrom 75* - 110* that my guys can enjoy.

You can see my progress at the bottom of this page under "Possible Related Threads..." "Twin Enclosure Phases I-III"... its a work in progress ;)

Looks nice. However, 3x2 seems too small. Everyone has to do what they have space for, but I have never been recommended anything smaller than a 6x4 or at the least a 6x2. What if you gave one tort the whole thing, 6x2 and build up in layers so that all get a proper size? Just an idea:D

3.5' x 2' is the normal size for a regular 55g rubbermaid. That is the size my little 4" russian is in now :) For a baby tort, 3.5' x 2' is pretty large for a 2" tort I would say! The table is for winter and cold days. I will have an outdoor pin at that time!

I Know Russians Dont Get Big, but going into any project you want to make it as big and enough space as possible :)

So a single adult russian needs a least 2' x 4'... So if the enclosure was total of 2' x 8', that would be good!

That would work, especially if they could be outside part of the year.
The other option is to have one larger one with legs on top, with a slightly smaller one as a pull out (on sliders or castors) below.
