White spots are often caused by an infection from sap-sucking insects called Cochineal Bugs. These insects are not toxic; but they certainly will harm the cactus over time. They can be removed by a strong blast of water; but it is likely that they will return (eggs have been laid), so you will need to repeat the treatment as needed. It is unlikely that they will harm a tortoise.
I currently have a glass tank with a screen top, but need to upgrade to a bigger size for my baby sulcata tort. What is best to use? I see large shallow containers being used and other housing items. I just want to do the right thing. Please help.
Hello, I’m happy to be a new member. Look forward to learning a lot.
Right now my question has to do with Charlies shell (4month old sulcata) Is it normal for the shell to have dents and or lumps at this age? Or am i doing something wrong with his diet, UV ect. Thanks in advance for helpful advise.
