  • Yes, since she will be protected by the cold frame, I'm leaving her. A bit nervous, but we'll see.
So, you are planning on hibernating her outside?

I think that my BT was egg bound. I went on vacation for a week and had my neighbor take care of my little pets and she kept trying to dig. My neighbor thought that she was trying to get out of her enclosure so he kept filling in the holes. She died a couple of days later. :(
How is your tort doing now?

She has 'gone down'. She stopped eating in late August. I soaked her a few times. In September she burrowed down in the cold frame I made, attached to her enclosure. Under a pile of grass clippings. She was determined, as she has always been! I wasn't planning on this- I still have her inside enclosure, but ce la vie!
Katie told me about your BT loss this summer. I am so sorry to hear that!
Hi my greek tortoise who is almost a year old (will be one year old in December) has not been pooping lately. He continues to eat regularly and bathe regularly (30 minutes every other day in luke warm water) he tries very hard to get his stool out but always fails. He used to be very active and such but lately he has almost seemed weak. Should I take him to the vet? Please help. I'm very concerned for him. Thank you!

Take him to the vet immediately. I would if my tortoise was like that.

    I agree. That sounds serious.
