Having my new little sulcata makes me ponder the oddest things about my hingebacks... one thing I wondered recently is why they don't eat their own poo? I have NEVER seen my hingebacks eating poo, nor have I seen the dreaded "black mouth," but I was wondering if anyone else had. I imagine their guts have to be fairly different from many other tortoises to eat and digest the sugar they do at 70 degrees; maybe their digestive tracts are too efficient for coprophagia?
Anyway, just interested in accumulating another potentially useless fact about my tortoises...
