There is no ways I am opening it to look. But probably nesting material and maybe some foodYipes! What's inside the web?
Normally, I am fine with spiders, but this one looks like it might fancy me for dinner! This is hanging out in my garden. I saw it and thought of you Tom.View attachment 254951

Whahaha. I had a small one in my car. BUT it was just above the sun visor and was making it way above my head. I had visions of this thing dropping down on my head while I was driving. And I was panicking because I did not want to touch the spider. But eventually I squashed it. It was probably very scared as well. But definitely not as scared as I was.OMG, how big is it? I'd be out of there. Just had a giant spider in the car I was driving earlier. It went where we couldn't get it. Good thing it didn't come back out I would have crashed the car.
It wasnt even the size of a dime but still giant too me.
Yikes, yours would give me nightmares
As long as it is outside it is fine. It is a rain spider and is actually quite harmless to humans. Not so much if you are an insect though.I'm not afraid of spiders....And that one scares me.
Aren't you the funny one. You can come on over and touch it if you like. I thought it was a rain spider. But it does look very much like a baboon spider as shown in Sabines picture. I will have to check again. You don't see it during the day, only at night. Hmm some research is needed me thinks.Thank you @CarolM !
I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure that is a huntsman spider. Big long legs give it away.
Try to touch it and tell us what happens!
This had me really worried for a moment. but thank goodness my spider is a rain spider only. Wow I was sweating there for a moment.
