I'm sorry that I gave this warning but as a breeder (not of border collies but shelties) I felt it was my responsibility to give this warning. It does kill and the death is a slow deteration of neural function. This I know because a beutiful loving boy out of our kennel died this way when was told info like above. Our puppy contract specified this risk as do all responsible breeders. I beleave 5% chance is too much if it can be avoided. On this forum there is much discussion on responsible breeding and sale of tortoises so should not it be extended to all animals.futureleopardtortoise said:Itort said:If the product contains ivermectin, DO'NT USE IT. That's only if it's injested (like heartworm medication), and Border Collies only have a 5% chance of having this particular gene. It also doesn't kill them, it causes them to have seizures until it leaves their system, but like I said, only if injested.
