I had questions about how to lessen territorial issues in an outdoor pen when introducing new box turtles together. There will be anywhere from 2 to 4 box turtles in the pan, all female, and it will be 4' x 10'. I have to keep the new ones in quarantine for a little while, any suggestions on how long? I was thinking three months.but instead of having one or two turtles already in there and then adding the new ones would it be better just to keep them all out of there completely until they are all together. I hope this is making sense :) I know they will all stick out their territory but would it be better to do it all at once rather than having one already have an area staked out? Any suggestions would be welcome.

That's what I was thinking. I can separate them into temporary enclosures until I put them into the big one. That's what my other post is about :)

box turtles do far better in groups, or colonies then other species by far. Introduce at the same time.
