We Moved into a new house this winter.I wanted to build a nice size pen for my box turtles. I tore down a old shed and used the base of that to set the pen. It’s 12x12 it still needs some planting and a top but so far it’s turning out good. My turtles are still waking up and I will prolly move them once they all come up. There are 5 of them all together. More piks to come.

Put a few of the turtles in today and watched them for about 10 minutes. Had one walk along the top of the pool and fall in upside down luckily I was there to help it or it woulda drowned. I fixed the problem temporarily and will make a permanent improvement ASAP. They are very good at pointing out your mistakes.

Box turtles are habitual perimeter walkers, and with that pool right up against the sides, it will become a part of the walking track to some degree, and might tip over onto their back - in the water - as they fixate on the wall and not the water and the slope of the side of the pool. I would just use some object to block the path at the the two corners, just not something they could climb and vamoose over the wall.

You are incredibly correct in seeing how well they point out our mistakes. I've been proven lacking many times in the past.
