Hi everyone. My little cherryhead of 5 months has some peeling at the bottom of the carapace. I read on the internet that they will have peeling sometimes. Is this normal? ImageUploadedByTortForum1391214180.950408.jpg
Thanks!

Not sure if it's just peeling or a start of a fungus. What is the set up? RF are prone to shell rot. They need high humidity, but without being housed on constant wet/damp substrate. Hopefully others can help.

Do you have a picture of the plastron? I would think that if it was shell rot, the plastron would be affected as well. Maybe they're scuff marks? I've never read of tortoise scutes peeling sometimes being a good thing or "normal".

Huh.. I think your tort might have some shell rot. Then again, I'm not an expert or seen shell rot first-hand. The lighting in the picture kinda throws me off (probably due to inexperience) so I can't tell if the plastron is just dirty or has peeling/pitting. Hopefully, someone more knowledgeable comes 'round and helps ya.
