Smartie123's idea is the best one so far. I understand tortoises have to be micro-chipped in the UK.

I've tried tortoise protection, and tortoise trust and the rspca reptile rescue is there anymore anyone knows of I could try ?

If the tortoise doesn't have a chip, you can do a search on the internet for "Tortoise Rescue Groups in Manchester, England". I just did that and it comes up with several of them.

If they are Annex A(and as a result requiring A10's) then yes, once they reach a certain size.
But if we are talking about the common species, it's only hermanni, graeca, marginata, kleinmanni, radiata that need A10's, and microchipping.
