You can sometimes hear a whistling sound when they breathe.

Are there any other symptoms, such as:
- Does he have a runny nose?
- Is he still eating normally?
- Is he still as active as usual?
- Is there any other sign of illness or problems with his his skin or shell?

If there's no runny nose and everything else is normal, don't worry.

Just to check... has anything in his environment changed? Are you using different substrate, bedding or anything like that?

Welcome to the Forum :D We LOVE PICS :p

A whistle sometimes could be something as simple as his enclosure is a bit too dry or perhaps something stuck in his nostril.....as joesmum said, if all other areas are good then I would just keep an eye on him to make sure that all remains normal....

Hi Michaellovesmolly:

Welcome to the Tortoise Forum!!

Is your name Micaela?

and may we know appx. where in the world you are?

It might be as simple as a bit of food stuck in the nares. You can flush out the nostrils with saline solution and see if that helps.
