... it never gets old!

Last night [ 1/17/11 ] SONshine -

.. did this for 3 hours and 15 minutes -

.. to get these -

.. most likely her last clutch of the 2010 'season' because of the 1 small undeveloped egg.

AND later on that same "evening".. this occurred.... again! -

The FIRST egg pipped on 12/31/10.. and now 17 days later the SECOND pipped - looks to be 2-3 others are fertile also!

WELCOME TO THE PATIENT WORLD OF TORTOISE BREEDING!!!

It never gets old OR un-eventful!

Thanks for posting this Terry! I'll be giving you a call a little later today. The female that has been laying consistently this year is due for another clutch any day now. What is Sonshine's average clutch sizes? How many eggs are fertile per clutch? My female averages 3 eggs per clutch, with one fertile egg.
