Help Identifying this Tortoise Please?

Well I recently got this tortoise from someone that no longer wanted it and was told its a "southwestern tortoise" can someone give me a 2nd opinion? I'm very new to the world of turtles and tortoises.

Its not a tortoise. Its a turtle its either a eastern box turtle or a ornate box turtle but i think its a eastern.

Yeah you're right I think I should delete this thread but I'm not sure how. Thanks for responding you confirmed what I thought that it's an eastern box turtle.

There's no sense in deleting the thread. We all learn from things like this. It IS an eastern box turtle and its just fine to leave it here in "Tortoise Photos & Videos."

I hope you'll stay with us here on the forum. We have many box turtle keepers here and you might find you enjoy talking with us. Where are you located?

Yes, a very nice, bright colored Eastern box turtle. Looks to be a male.

Definately a keeper!
