Hello and thank you for letting me join! I have loved tortoises ever since I worked at a zoo and got to take care of a 130 year old Galapagos tortoise and his harem of females. I live in Phoenix and I finally have a home with a backyard and my hubby and I decided we wanted Leopard tortoises (P.P.) to start. After looking for an older tortoise for a while and coming up empty handed, we finally decided to try a baby and we got him/her last week.


His/her name is Taz and is 3 months old. I attached a picture. Taz was the last of their clutch so I'm on the lookout for another baby or two P.P. around the same age. I am still very new to caring for babies so I may have lots of questions so I'm glad this community is here.

Title says sulcatas, but I feed my South African leopards exactly the same. They eat a lot more grass, and eventually grass hay than "regular" leopards: https://tortoiseforum.org/threads/for-those-who-have-a-young-sulcata.76744/

I have 8 babies hatched now and more on the way, when you are ready for them.

You made a great choice in Leapard torts . I only have 18 of them . I’ve had them about 18 years . But don’t worry I have many other torts as well . Yes I’m a tort collector . Good luck with your torts [emoji217]
