You'd think, but they could do what they did with bran and put that story line on hold for a season.
No haven't read much into the theories. I just thought maybe the Red Woman would do some weird lord of light voodoo on Snow. Either that or it would be cool if he somehow came back as his wolf.
Kit Harrington, who plays Jon Snow, has said he is not in the next season. Notice 'next season' not 'ever again'.
The Bran story arc was put on hold because they'd run out of storyline from the books, it was done ahead of it's place in the other storylines.
