My hatchling red foot finally came today!! ( you can look in the red foot section if you want to see pics). Everything seems fine, he looks in great health but as with most new tortoises when you first get them they don't eat right away. So I am not so worried about that, however I was wondering how long I should keep the food in there for him to decide if he wants to eat or not?

Congrats :D I would think that you could leave it in there as long as it stays fresh looking (but not likely beyond the day you put it down)....:)

Like everyone else is saying just make sure you change it every day. Or if you check during the day and it doesn't look fresh then just take it out and put new food.
