Well I just finished a failed drawing of a Leo. I couldn't get the pattern right

In my opinion, tortoises are one of the very hardest creatures to draw. Your attempt is way better than something I might end up with. The proportions are right and I really don't see all that wrong with the pattern. Pencil drawing is much more difficult because you have to have such detail. Painting is easier because you can get the desired effect with shading and different colors. Good job!

I can draw fairly well and I have yet to attempt a tortoise drawing. I just know it will be really difficult lol.
