Baby sulcata

Thank you Tom! I just changed out his hide to a humid one, but he wont go in it! I've seen him go in, but he turns around and walks back out. He used to have a kleenex box he loved going into. Now hes boycotting against me because I took it out....

Every sulcata baby I have ever raised avoids any sort of new hole in the ground or cave. My russian babies are just the opposite and dive into any hole they can find. I speculate that baby sulcatas avoid holes in the ground so that they may also avoid being eaten by whatever animal made the hole.

I put mine in their hides an hour or two after lights out. Over time they seem to figure out that there is no baby sulcata eating monster in the hole, and its actually their hole. Just takes time. Once they figure this out, some of them hardly ever come out of the hole.

Good advice. This forum is great. Thank you everyone for your help. I will start placing him in it more often, we'll see how it goes. :)

Hi and welcome to the forum. I am new around here as well. Actually this could pretty much be my post. I just got a 2 month old sully and I am from Ohio haha :)
