Just seen this thread love it. Might steal the idea and start a "Just Murphy" thread! Sheldon is a good looking dude. Where did you get your scale? Mine only went up to 650 grams, and Murphy passed that last week.

Thanks man. I believe I got it off of Amazon. It was like $30. Supposedly it goes up to a hundred pounds, but it probably won't do me any good trying to cram a hundred pound tortoise on top of that little scale LOL. For the size he's at right now, it works great.

Very nice thread Jay, and a very pretty sulcata, Love the color of the shell. It will be neat if it keeps the darker coloration. Welcome to the world of Sulcatas, it's a fun place to be. I've been it for 22 years. I have raised many but now only have Walker the original one, and get to enjoy him everyday.

Thanyou so much!! I've had a lot of lizards and snakes throughout my life. So when my daughter asked to get a Sulcata, I was excited, but also a little leery as I've never had a tortoise. Out of all the creatures I've had the pleasure of caring for, I seem to be enjoying this one the most. This guy's personality just cracks me up, eating out of my hand one minute, and then bulldozing it out of the way the next. I don't know if I've seen pictures of Walker yet, but I look forward to coming across them. Thank you again for taking an interest in Sheldon.

Ps... I just looked at the tortoise you have as your avatar. I'm assuming that is Walker, he is absolutely gorgeous.

I can post some pics this weekend on another thread (don't want to post on your thread) and just a wild guess from an old time,r Sheldon will be a Shelly soon, at the rate of growth you have going on it wont take long to be sure.

Sounds good. I look forward to seeing them. When we got Sheldon, the breeder said they did a temperature sex for a male. I know that isn't always accurate, it's kind of funny he/she still has the blue nail polish dot on his center scute they used to identify possible males.

I've seen a lot of poop pics posted on here, so I thought I'd throw one up of Sheldon's. It was a doozy, been feeding him a lot more grass and weeds.20180606_104640.jpeg
