With or without D3

When feeding calcium carbonate should I feed calcium carbonate with or without D3? My tortoise is indoors

Any UVB lighting?

I give mine some D3 (I alternate between liquid D3 and the powder/D3 mix) once every 12-14 days. I'm becoming more partial to the liquid because it's easy to dose. It comes with an eye dropper and each drop = 100 IU's, I put a couple drops on their food and mix it all around (low dose). The rest of the time, it's just Ca. I run an MVB, thus the infrequent and low D3 doses.

Per usual, this is just what I do, doesn't mean it's right. Let's see what others say.

I do cal.d3 powder 1 time a week. He is inside for winter. I have a MVB for uv. Plus he has a cuttlebone to chew on and I grind up the cuttlebone into a powder and it's in a dish. Sometimes I sprinkle it on his food, about 1 time a week. That's what I do.
