Nice mud hole, I haven't decided if I am going to do one for Vegas this year. Last year when the water didn't absorb into the ground it got a little stinky after poop and pee had been sitting in it for a few hours in the heat. :p:p

I will figure out something..:D

...another reason I'm thinking about letting it dry out and putting in a concrete bottom;)

wow with him being that heavy, how do you get him to go where you want him to? How do you lift him? I am gathering ideas now because my largest tort is 35 lbs and the day he gets that big is coming soon. Your pool for him is very nice. Deanna

True, with concrete, you could just spray it out well every couple of days.

I am sure he will love it. Great idea. Had a hard time getting past the shock of having to have an inspector for mud pond. Then I realized you meant Walking Rock, lol. I have just read multiple horro stories from all the "city folks " in the forum talking about getting permission to build a pole barn or rick wall or fence and thought that is what you meant. ;)

Nice job. Glad the inspector approved. Just wait for those triple digit temps. He won't be avoiding it then. :)

Lots of rain and an occational tornado here and there but everyone made it thru and the pond is filled to overflowing with fresh rainwater!

Very cool pond. And WR is a one handsome guy.
I have big plans for my little ones outdoor yard including a very similar pond.
For now I have to settle for building a new indoor table.
I love my little ones, but I am impatiently waiting for them to get big.

Well, Stagnation WAS DEFINATLYan Issue! and a nasty one at that!

I let the pit dry out...ish:D. and I removed the steping stones.

I pat all the sides smooth, but with contuor so he could climb out.

2 bags of this concrete mix (@75# each)

and a couple of broken step stones later and we have a beginning...

Wow, that was alot of reading!!...lol...I was going to comment that you should line it with concrete to stop the spreading of the mud, and alo easier to clean it out from stagnation.....BUT, you solved it!....I hope WR likes it.....

Great pool. Can't wait to see him in it. Going to steal your idea when mine gets big.
