great news!! i got his new bulb today and after i put it up right after 5 minutes he began eating on his own!! he currently loves his new bulb and hes not hiding from it!! he loves sitting under it!!

That's great news. Still, you should make an outdoor enclosure. Mine is cat proof. Not predator proof, but cat proof. The walls are cinderblocks. Fkexible PVC pipe is stuck into the holes in the blocks to make a hoop house. Plastic snowfence is zip tied on. My cat stays out - now that I've put up the fence.
