Hi all! Now that summer is here and Ted is the right size, I decided it was time for her to move out! I refurbished an old chicken coop and fully cleaned out/ replaced flooring on it. I planted the grazing mix from tortoise supply and added some bushes for her to hide in. Also added a small tortoise pond for her to soak in. It’s definitely taking some time for Ted to become acclimated to her new environment. She doesn’t like coming outside at all which has given the plants/bushes some time to grow which is nice but I would like her to be outside too! Let me know what you guys think!

Lucky tortoise plenty of room for stretch those legs. Maybe some hides to crawl into as a suggestion?

Nice job! Give him some time. The older they are the longer it takes some to adjust.
It's been very hot in my area and probably yours. Mine seem to come out more around 4-5when it's a bit cooler.

It’s definitely been hot! I try to put her out but she immediately runs back for the door lol. I’m kinda worried she won’t get enough uvb

I definitely need to add more to the enclosure! I figured she would feel okay with the amount of bushes and the grass being 6 inches tall lol ?‍♂️

She will get enough uvb. A tort can go out 3 or 4 times a week and not need artificial uvb.

I would try to feed her outside. That may help her get comfy. Plus it would give her some uv. She doesn't have to be right in the sun to get uv. Filtered thru shade works.

I tried that when I first had her outside(She has been outside now for about 3 weeks) but the only way she will stay outside is if I close the door to her nightbox and it seems to stress her out when I do that. She just loves to sit inside that nighbox lol
