i recently added a new baby sully(socks) to the enclosure and my other sully(tommy) seems to be really scared. it runs away or hides in its shell. it doesn't even eat at the same time. it has only been a day that they have been together but is there anything i can do to help them adjust?

You shouldnt house a pair together. One of them will dominate the other. It's best to keep them seperate or get a third tortoise so the aggression is not directed towards just the one tortoise

He’s not scared of his new “friend”, he’s scared of his new competition. Tortoises are solitary, territorial animals that don’t have a concept of friendship and only see other tortoises as combatants, mates, or both.

Be sure to give these a read, and get them separated-

You need to make a second enclosure and put the new one in it ASAP. Tortoises should never be kept in pairs.

Two baby tortoise will never work. Unless you have a very large enclosure but still it’s really bad idea for two tortoise baby live together. Get a third one would be better.
