Sick tortoise

Hi my tortoise shelldon is sick and the veterinary costs are adding up quickly and would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help out or share the link thanks.

he is very lethargic and his legs are swelling up. He is at the vte now and they are doing bloodwork and xrays. My suspicions is it has something to do with his kidneys but the vet said it could be something with his heart. Has anyone experienced anything like this or have suggested questions I should ask the vet?
