Shell concern/question

when I was soaking Irwin today I noticed a white film on the ends of some of his shell. Is this something I should be concerned about? I tried to show the white areas in the pics below. Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Do you spray his shell several times a day? Are you using tap water for that?

I do spray his habitat / plants and him at least 2x a day. Yes just regular tap water with no softener (salt) system.

Oh - yes it did wipe of with a little rubbing on my part

It could be hard water stains. I use collected and filtered rain water, or distilled water for shell spraying. All water, no minerals. Use the tap water for drinking and soaking though.
