Hi Sandy. If you go back to the very first post, Darwin is just one of the name choices. We just got a little silly going back and forth about Darwin as a boy's or girl's name. It happens to be my female tort's name. [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND SMILING EYES]

Charles Darwin studied Galapagos tortoises in his theories on evolution and natural selection, if you were wondering in general about all the torts named Darwin. Otherwise, yeah, it was on the list and we took off with it.

Maybe Chomper :)

Funny you say that, my last dog's name was Chomper. We didn't name her, she came to us with that name from the shelter. Ah I still miss her..

lol! Sorry guys, I really haven't been here much this week!
While "Carlos Danger" is awesome, I think the reference will have lost its amusement in a couple of years lol.
"Darwin" has been used by a lot of people for their pets, not just chelonians.
"Batman" and "Bruce" are definitely not unisex.

I think I'm going to go with Story. It'll fit for a boy or a girl, and it's not a pop culture reference. :)

Thanks everyone for your participation and suggestions!!

I LOVE Story....it's what I voted for, and I think it's perfect! :) Like you said, it's cute for a boy or girl...and in my opinion, it's a name with a lot of character!

Enjoy your baby!

I like Story! It's cool. Thanks to all this, I changed my Darwin's name to Sir Darwin of Danger! I will still call him Darwin Hahahaha!

Oh great! I just thought of two more names that I like. DOBBY and DARBY! Guess now I have to get two more torts. lol

I think it's my love of Neil Gaiman that brought me to the name "Story". When I think of stories, I think of him. But I didn't want to name the tortoise "Neil" as there is a Neil in my extended family lol.

TortyTom, clearly having names in mind warrants more pets. haha!
