Howdy never made a post before so bare with me. I currently own a 4-5 year old Russian tortise named Brandy. When I first had her she was in a glass tank unknowingly that tortise don't understand glass so she bang a lot till I had the money to switch to a bigger plastic bin. But over time I noticed small whitish spots may have fallen off or something? She's fed everyday, alternative calsium/vitamin, and soaked every other day. If someone can put my mind at rest or seek more care for my girl. (Shell isn't soft or smell)

The white bits are just what one can expect to see on a wild caught Russian tortoise, but the dissicated spaces between the scutes (the new growth) tells me that the tortoise is being kept under a very harsh light that is drying out the new growth. Please post a few pictures of your tortoise's enclosure, pictures with the tortoise in the enclosure, so we can give you more information on what needs to be done to correct this shell problem.

. . . also, Brandy is much older than the three or four years you thought. This is a full grown, wild caught tortoise, probably over ten or 15 years of age - maybe more.

I am unsure if Brandy is a wild caught tortise. I bought her at a pet store. Also this is the enclosure she lives in would evivating the light be helpful. At first I didn't think she wasnt getting enough heat was the issue.
