Some of you may remember my post about the project I started about a month and a half ago to make a new garden for myself & outdoor playpen for my tort. Since I initiated it I have went down 1 foot into the soil and sifted the rocks and debris, added new clean topsoil, built a retaining wall, planted a full vegetable garden, installed a new fence and gate, and made the temporary tort play pen. The next stage now is to build the final tortoise playpen with a nice cage top I can lift off to get in there if i have to. Here are some pics of the progress and also the temporary tortoise playpen I plan to expand it a few more feet in length and put it around the cabbage that I planted.

Awesome!!! Lucky for the both of you. My outdoor Tort paradise has been postponed as we have had some unexpected house repairs do damage on the budget lately. :(

Looking good! Like the human fence you have up. You have really done a lot of work. How big will the playpen end up being? What plants are you thinking about having in there?

Heya, for the rest of this season, the pen will be 3.5x8 feet, a long rectangle. This wont be permanant, im planning on adding a couple more torts when i get back from vacation in august, so I'll need to expand it at some point. As for the plants there will be for cabbage plants in there and two big to zucchini plants. Also, as per Toms recommendation I ordered a bag of testudo seed mix that I'm going to spread around the pen as well. The finished pen, for the remainder of the season at least, will be done in another couple of weeks. Ideally for next summer id like the final plot to be 8x8 feet to hold 3 total torts, although larger is possible.
