Baby Bob is a babe. And who does not love those soaks? They are like little tortoise ahhhh! spa time. I use bird vitamins in their spa water once a week, more if I think it might be needed. I think it was Angela/ascott that said you want to keep them "plump and juicy". Since you found this little one, soaks are a good way to get him hydrated and happy. You just do not know how long he was out there without water before you found him. Or he found you. Part of his little Bob journey.

Its funny because he spreads his back and front legs out and just chills...lol. What type of bird vitamins do you use? Per Yvonne, I use baby food strained carrots and/or Pediolite in soaks every other day or so (worked like a charm when my RF Jerry Lee had a URI). I am just relieved he is pooping and eating because he is not happy to be hanging out inside due to the heavy rain we have had here-although this weekend he will have a nice, VERY large enclosure indoors for the winter. :D I just know how easily these guys stress and wanted to make sure he was happy.

I got the bird vitamins at PetSmart. They are called 8 in 1 Vita-Sol and they are a bright yellow color when you drop them in. I do about 5-10 drops per soak, once a week. It was on a thread I read by Yvonne here on TFO that I then started doing them in soaks. For added support. So glad little Bob is adjusting to his new home. Sometimes it takes them weeks and that can get stressful. He is a jewel. : )

Well thank you-I will grab some this weekend for sure. I have actually got my husband in on the fun-he normally gets "grumpy" when I bring home a new family member, but quickly gets over it (he doesn't have much of a choice-lol). Yesterday he took Bob out in the yard for a few hours and hung out with him. It just warms my cold little heart when he acts right :D

Your cold little heart. That's funny.
Tortoises are wonderfully therapeutic. Long day at work, you pull up a chair and watch them graze or eat, and "bam" instant blood pressure reducer. For me, at least.

What a dear Bob is! And he's living the life now, with those warm soaks and someone ready to wrap him in a towel and offer healthy, delicious treats. I'm glad he found you!

Oh same for me-my RF will crack me up because of the sounds he makes-he can be in his hide and I can hear the little sound he makes when he is asleep..and then there is Mildred, the little ornate booger-now this one is a CLOWN. She always has the funniest expressions on her face-I cant help but be happy when I am with them-so its not just you! :) I have a thread on her in the Box Turtle section talking about how she likes to "sleep" with her ceramic turtle buddy.

Thank you! When it comes to my turts, if I can make them a third of how happy they make me, I figure I am doing something right! :)
