Ormond is Trying to Hibernate

Yes, I was saying it is spring and he shouldn't go into hibernation or, brumation, which is the correct term for what some reptiles do in the winter.
In nature young tortoises in those climates do indeed hibernate and many of them die.
In our artificial created environments there are also risks to brumation.
Some members here hibernate their tortoises, some never do and many do not hibernate baby tortoises for their first one or two or up to 5 winters to reduce risk.
My Tidgy is about 5 years old now and has never hibernated. She is fine and I am thinking of letting her hibernate this winter for the first time, if she passes all the necessary criteria.

well, just an update, Little Ormond is definitely more awake now with the two lights. He is up to 104 grams now and is eating throughout the day. He has even started walking towards me when I talk to him :)

So glad he's perking up!
My Elsa has also started walking up on her own and moving around more!:)
