Hello,

My Herman just tested positive for pinworms and vet gave us some oral medications for treatment. Anyone have suggestions giving via syringe. It ended up being 50 / 50 mess and being swallowed. Thank you in advanced.

Mix it with some Mazuri tortoise chow that has been wetted and softened or in some other type of mashed favorite food.
Also. DONT Stress About pinworms. They are as common as fleas on a dog.

Many don't bother treating for pinworms unless they are present in really great numbers. The panacur is something I'd rather avoid unless really necessary

I agree.

Use anything that your tort can't resist eating. Strawberries are usually off limits for this species (they can't process the sugars and it can cause digestive and kidney problems), but they love them.

Now's the time for bribery. Mashed strawberry and medication may be necessary!

I don't agree with not treating pinworms/ other parasites. When your tortoise is otherwise ill and his immune system compromised, parasites can be that extra issue that causes additional, perhaps fatal complications.

I know some medicines have to be taken on an empty stomach and vice-versa did the vet say whether this had to be solely by itself or it could be mixed with other food?
