Let me start off, I’m definitely changing my little’s ones name to Miss Piggy. She always eats ALL of her food and keeps coming back to the feeding stone looking for more.

Initially I was told to feed her:

- Greens in a pile the size of her shell every day
- Fruit the size of her head once a week
- Dust food w/calcium once a week
- Mazuri once a week

I’m researching more and see folks posting to feed the “slow and steady” method (feeding alternate days).

What’s the best food plan? Does the food plan change for indoor vs. outdoor?

Thanks everyone, I absolutely love this site!

Tortoises are natural grazers in the wild and should have access to food whenever they want. If they eat all their food, give them more.

I don’t believe you will find anyone here on the Form advocating the slow n steady every other day of feeding method. It’s not normal. They graze and nibble & graze more.

happy torting.
