WOW! I didn't realize it had been so long since I posted this thread!
I left y'all hanging on 11/21/2021with a RECURRENCE of the mosquito invaders.

I covered the tanks with cheesecloth and screen, duct taped in place and sat on my pity pot for about a month. I was too embarrassed, frustrated and TiredOfThoseDamnBugs to post anything. After about 6 weeks, while adding water to one tank, I noticed there was a SPIDER'S WEB in the top of the tank. It was full of little dried up mosquito husks, and there were NO LIVE MOSQUITOES in the tank!!!! Sadly, there was a dead, curled up spider in the web, too.

I checked the other tank, and darned if it wasn't the same situation: a plain old house spider had set up shop just inside the top of the tank, and took care of ALL the mosquitoes!!!!!

NATURE FINDS A WAY!!!!!

And remember: SPIDERS ARE OUR FRIENDS!!!!! :)
