Mold growing on eggs

Our oldest female redfoot laid her first clutch with more than 1 egg on the 17th of this month. She laid 10 but smashed 1 of them open. I saw her laying so as soon as she was done I tried cleaning off the eggs the best I could since the smashed egg got on the others. I guess I didn't do a good enough job because now after almost a week there is mold growing 😞. Is there anything I can do?

That might mean they're not fertile, but, being careful not to change the eggs' orientation, pick each up and hold it under the faucet, gently scrubbing off the mold with your fingers.

I've always just used plain water.

They have been gently cleaned and are back in the incubator. Fingers crossed (for several months) that at least a few are fertile and hatch! Thank you!
