We found Adila, our Russian tortoise, on the street just before Halloween. Before we could track down possible owners or get her into the vet, she disappeared under our very small yard and stayed put until shortly into February.
I've fussed embarrassingly over getting her set up *just* right. Fortunately there is plenty of great information on this site; I think we will do okay by her. She's eating and exercising well; the vet gave her a clean bill of health yesterday. She could be ten years old or twenty. I'm hoping it's closer to twenty; that would put us into retirement housing at the same time.
