I'm not trying to bash and I mean this in the nicest way possible, but those guys need some dirt! That stuff looks like it'd be painful to live/walk on.

Nice torts! And yes, I agree with the others; you definitely need a better substrate in there. Cypress mulch is cheap and effective.
