Ok need tips and tricks for when people travel out of town. Who do you ensure whoever is caring for your tort does it right? Feeds it enough, etc... Also mine will only be able to stay I side for a couple days and no soaking - should I give an extra long soak tomorrow and then again when I return? Fresh water will be available while I'm gone but it won't be the same.

Ps I've only had him since may 27th so I be been doing daily 20 min soaks and trying to bulk him up a bit more as he was a little light from what the vet said.

Thanks!

If your concern is the feeding, make daily baggies of food setup in the refrigerator for feeding. I wouldn't worry about the missed soakings. With water available, make sure the sitter knows to change it when it gets soiled.

Likewise I wouldn't worry about missed soaks. Get your carer to feed the food wet... soak it under the tap before feeding... that way your tort will take on water when eating :)

Yeah when I left, I had my friend feed mine and I had set out food for each torts feeding with labels. Pretty simple, of course he got his days mixed up and fed them on the day I left but I would def leave pre made potions in your fridge to make it easier. Light timers help too.
