Just finished reading Emile Zola's The Paradise. on kindle. As is often the way , the translation wasn't good. I read a few of Dostoevsky & also found the difference a good translation can make.

I don't know about those books, never read either, but I prefer the actual book to the Kindle. I find it's hard to hold and my hands get tired.

I never read Dickens before I had kindle. Seen so many versions on TV of Oliver Twist . Tale of 2 cities etc, But since having kindle I've read Martin Chuzzlewit , Barnaby Rudge & Little Dorrit, loved them , I do have a tendency to always go for the classics, Most modern stuff I don't understand.
