I did not mean to be impolite. I am the proud owner of a 12 year old eastern box turtle named Maximus. He was very unhealthy and had a damaged shell when I rescued him 18 months ago. I have learned to love him as part of the family, as well as my 6 kids have. He is now very sociable and healthy. Max needs found!

Thanks for the reply and the condolence, it is a rare thing in today's world! I am still holding out hope.

I would also knock on neighbor's doors, call local shelters, and make sure he isn't just dug into the ground somewhere. Can you give the whole story? I must have missed it; sorry!
