Infrared temp gun

Just got a new temp gun. To be honest I didn't read the instruction on my first one.
I knew not to point at eyes and airplanes but I read this info on this one and it says dont point at people or animals.
A quick reading on Opo's shell ok?

Readings from the carapace or legs are fine. Just don’t be pointing that laser at the face of any living thing. It can and will do damage to the eyes.

Thanks Ken, that's where I always aim at Opo is the rear. I knew not to aim at the eyes. So I don't like to try and get a side reading because my hand isn't steady.
