I'm officially a tortoise great Grandma. My first tortoise's daughter's egg hatched this weekend.
Timmy girl (Grandma) was my first ever tortoise. She was killed by a racoon 3.5 years ago.
Topaz (Mama) is an 8-year-old female who hatched from my first clutch ever. I didn't breed her until this year. So far only one of her eggs was fertile, my CB male is still young only 3.5 years old. But he has proven that he is not shooting all blanks.
I'm not sure yet what we will name this little one. My kids want her to be named Pebble. She is spunky and has her Dad's very light skin. Her shell is very plain, but who knows how it will grow. She weighs 16g.
