Here are a few pics of how I set up the enclosure for my local turtles to hibernate, the last 2 pics are inside pics, the last is a zoom in of a yearling het for albino RES that thinks it's spring. The house in the background at the end of the enclosure is Walker's heated house. Len

Len, Thats great! Do you have to worry about snow or wind "removing" the plactic?

Not now, with trial and error over the years I found that a few wires ran from side to side stretched tight under the poly attached to each sidewall and wires ran the same way on top the poly it can withstand a lot of snow weight and high winds, Notice the 2x4 on the side,it is hanging by the top wires, and there is another 2x4 wrapped in poly sitting on top of that 2x4, it is holding the poly down, If I need the top open I can roll the poly and top wires up to the peak, I usually have to open it up on very warm spring days to let some heat out and cover it back up at night if it is to get cold, and at some point it is all removed until next fall. With this setup the pond has never had ice,as warm as this winter has been it wouldn't have frozen without the poly cover. Len
