Hi I am a proud owner of 2 leopard tortoises. Today while I was cleaning their enclosure I say a weird kinda red rash on his neck. Should I be worried?

Do you have fire ants where you live? Perhaps the tortoise got bitten by an ant or some other insect.

The red area doesn't look too serious from what I can see, though. I would say to just watch it and see if it gradually goes away as long as the tortoise is acting normally otherwise.

I was thinking it sort of looks like he's scraped his skin on the shell. . . kind of like a small abrasion??? Just put some Neosporin on it and keep an eye to see if it heals.
