]HI
I have a friend that breeds Hermanns tortoises and he emailed me asking the following.....
Maybe you can help me with this one?
I have a baby, sibling of the one with triplets a few weeks ago.
It still has a yolk sac but it has a shell growing on the yolk sac.
Anyone on your forums heard of this?
Does it dry out and fall off?
It can't absorb because of the shell?
I guess i could cut it, only soft tissue connecting but baby may die from blood loss?
As you can see i put him on food dish after 4 days sitting in incubator hoping it would shrink and it its great.
It's trying to walk around but hind legs barley touch ground.skin dries...?.
Any suggestions appreciated.
I will attach the photos he sent me of the baby.
Thanks in advance from both of us.

I'm having trouble uploading the images, I will keep trying.

This is a Greek not Hermanns-sorry-not that it makes any difference to the questions.
