Found tortoise/turtle..need help with care, etc.

Hi,
We found a turtle/tortoise in our backyard over the weekend. I have posted on Nextdoor and will foster until I can locate the owner. I was assuming it was a tortoise but then thought it also resembled a Box Turtle. Can anyone help with identifying and offering care suggestions until I find the owner? Much appreciated.

Yes, it's a three toed box turtle (Terrapene carolina triunguis) and is not native to California. They eat bugs, worms, fruit and veg, and are very good diggers and climbers.
