I was about to say, isn't it illegal to collect wild boxies of all types now? I know it is extremely illegal here in Texas, comparable with laws against trafficking in native tortoises.

I contacted the person and she believes it's a released pet. She came walking up to her kids.
Florida has a law that you ARE allowed to take two box turtles from the wild per family member. While I don't agree with taking them from an area where they are safe there are rare cases where they need to be relocated or would do better in captivity.
