We did it......and he didn't drown and he didn't totally hate it! He didn't love it, but he didn't really protest and only mildly tried to climb up the wall a couple times. We were planning on 10 minutes for first time but went for the whole 20 minutes! Were we supposed to dry him off or anything (because we did NOT). We even sprinkled water on top of him and he seemed fine with it. Put him back in his home and he scurried around and then immediately found his food and started eating breakfast. Yay.....success!!!

Now....... we are using clay plant saucer for water in habitat. The terracotta/clay seems to absorb the water fast so that underneath the saucer gets very wet, but it's hard to keep the water dish actually full for him. Thoughts???

Great to hear that.

Personally I dry Oli after each and every soak.

One thing I know is that a tort drinks while being soaked, so you needn't worry.

Hmmmmmm, my terracotta saucers don't do this but I have heard before that some do. Don't know what to suggest.
I'm glad the bath went well.
I don't dry Tidgy off, indeed she soaks herself often now in her dish.

Well done on the soak :)

It sounds like your plant saucer is faulty... either a poor glaze or a hairline crack. If the water soaks through, it wouldn't be much good for its proper job under a plant pot.

Thankfully I bought two, so we have the other one in there now. Was thinking same thing about it being kinda useless in any capacity.
