How much and how often? I have been feeding my subadults (4-5") 1x a day with a dinner plate piled high with greens. They eat heavily and within an hour most is gone. I had been feeding 2x but the evening meal was hardly ever touched.

Is this ok?

I feed my youngster (1 year and 2") once a day also. I am constantly amazed with the quantity he can consume at one sitting. I give him a good handful of greens and it is usually almost all gone in app. 30 minutes.

I'm no expert, but your plan sounds good to me :)

Once daily feeding for subadults and adults works well provided that they are active. I would not feed more often than once a day. Tortoises leaving food uneaten is a good indicator that they were getting more than they would normally consume within a day.

Baby and young developing Northern Mediterranean tortoises do best when fed once daily, even if some food is left since they will come out of hiding frequently during the daytime to explore and bask.

Feed them as much as they'll eat at AM feeding, then a small amount at PM feeding, if they still seem hungry.

You'll quickly figure out how much to give them w/o too much waste.
