Energetic lil tort

I have had my lil Merlin for about 3 months now. I have discovered my little tort has a lot of energy and keeps running around his enclosure knocking everything down. In the middle of his tiny rampage he keeps hitting the side of the 40gallon tank that houses him. I was wondering what I could do to keep him from banging on the wall? Would placing some paper around the tank high enough so he can't see do anything?

Yes, that is exactly what you need to do.

Paper to stop him seeing out may well help, but as he grows, he may well continue to do this.

Torts do roam large distances in the wild, so expect to have to move him into a larger enclosure as he gets bigger.

I put broken slate around the inside of mine, gives her more privacy around her eating area and den, it's around 3 sides only 1/4 the way up, the front is open and I find she never hits it etc granted I've read some are chronic glass hitters and some don't even bother.
